I just found this video in youtube regarding heat exhaustion
and the consequences. The video shows a guy
trying to do rim to bottom to rim in the Grand Canyon. I did it before and I
found it very hard. Lucky me it was in April and in a cloudy day. I suffered before from heat exhaustion ( you
fried your brain )and it is really unpleasant if not dangerous. This guy got a
hot day maybe in August; he finally left the tent behind as he cannot carry it.
So carefully in So Cal in the pick times of those hot days, plenty water, electrolytes
and shadow.

Preparation
Wow what a job the seam sealing the tarp tent. You can
imagine my face when I rode that I still had to seal the tent. After some
research, youtube gave the answer and with my little hand-craft skills I was
able to do a decent job. Mr Henry Shires should be proud of me.
As it needs to dry for 48 h in a dry area I have to set it
inside the apartment. It is difficult to get 2 days without rain in England. It
was a good experience for me to set it without any peg in a hard soil. .
In the other hand all the permits had arrived: PCT permit, fire
permit, and been quite optimist I have the Canadian border entry permit. So I
am quite happy with this and something less to worry about.
Thinking about gear I am still have some doubt about carry an ice
axe, if I get one probably would be a CAMP one and are actually quite
expensive. I am still waiting for the weather forecast on March. As in December
look like it was a drought year without snow, now look like some rain and snow
is arriving late in the season. I will wait until April to take a decision.
I am still looking for any kind of sponsorships, this is a
tough one. Maybe I found something, shorts, socks and t – shirt, to be confirmed
in the next days.
